Liverpool close to £6m signing?

After the great away win over Wolves this Saturday, Kenny Dalglish repeated that there is money to spend.

- We can bring players in if we want and it's not dependent on people going out either, Dalglish said.

And if we believe The Yorkshire Post, Liverpool has a queue of top level players wanting to join the club.

One of them might arrive very soon...
Liverpool on Friday night had a £4.5m bid rejected by Blackpool, but according to Crunchsports.com the club is set to make a new £6m bid and are confident that their improved offer for 25-year-old Charlie Adam will be accepted.

Aston Villa remain interested in the Blackpool captain but Liverpool are favourites to land Adam before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

However, Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is determined to keep Adam at the club and earlier this week called Villa's £3.5m bid "disgraceful" after Gerard Houllier splashed out £18m on the signing of striker Darren Bent from Sunderland.

Holloway suggested Adam could be worth "£46million" because of the amount Villa paid for England international Bent and as a result of the amount Blackpool would earn by avoiding relegation this season, but realistically, a fee in the region of £6m would provide the club with money to bring in one or two new players before the transfer window closes.

When it comes to Luis Suarez, Ajax want a swift resolution to the situation.

- We won't let Luis go on 31 January at 23.55. It's logical and a deal which I made with Rik van den Boog (general director of Ajax), The Ajax chief Frank de Boer told De Telegraaf.

Elsewhere, reported Liverpool target Niko Kranjcar has held crisis talks with Tottenham regarding his future, according to The Guardian.

The Croatian winger expressed his frustration at a lack of first team first opportunities and made it clear that the situation needs to change.

The 26-year-old has previously been linked by Metro with a move to Liverpool and the Anfield club are reportedly keenly monitoring his situation.

However, Liverpool may struggle to prise him away from White Hart Lane after Redknapp stated that he had no intention of letting the winger leave.

Valued at £11 million by transfermarkt, Kranjcar has slipped down the pecking order at Spurs due to the promotion of Gareth Bale into an attacking role.
